Adrian Lewis insists he is "looking forward" to his survival clash against Peter Wright on the Premier League’s Judgement Night.

The Stoke thrower is languishing in the bottom two of the table and desperately needs a result against Wright to avoid elimination in Manchester, live on Sky Sports.

Lewis has failed to pick up a win since the opening week of the campaign, but believes he performs at his best when faced with the threat of an exit.

“Sometimes, because it’s not a knockout [format], you think, 'well I can always come back next week and put it right'," he told Sky Sports. "In a normal tournament, if you lose you’re out. There's no coming back next week.

"I think it takes that little element of pressure away from me, but I’ll come out firing for this, definitely.

“I’m looking forward to it. I’ve never been in this predicament before, so we’ll see how it goes.”

Wright only needs a draw to keep himself in the competition, but Lewis is confident he can continue his recent winning run against ‘Snakebite’.

“Obviously I’m fighting for my life in the Premier League. At the minute, it’s in my own hands. I get a win and I’m safe and obviously if I lose, I’ll be out.

“I’ve beat him a couple of times this year on TV already and I've beat him a couple of times on the floor also, so this year it’s gone really well.

“But tomorrow night it’s a pressure game for both of us.”

Despite his disappointing form, Lewis remains confident he can still mount a genuine challenge for the title in the remainder of the season.

"Of course I can, definitely," he said. "I’ve got to build up a bit of momentum over the next few weeks.

"Obviously I need to get the job done tomorrow night. I think that would put me three points behind the top four. Anything can happen in the final six weeks."
