'Eddie Pepperell, Ryan Palmer and Brooks Koepka in good form'

With Rob Lee having spent many hours commentating on the Ryder Cup for Sky Sports – and offering up his end-of-play thoughts on skysports.com – we decided to give him a rest from blog duty this week.
But if you’re twiddling your pencils eagerly awaiting his tips for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, which begins at 1pm on Thursday on Sky Sports 4, don’t fret.
Rob has browsed the form book and chosen three players he thinks can win in Scotland, none of whom played for Europe at Gleneagles…
“I'm going to stay away from the Ryder Cuppers – Rory McIlroy, Stephen Gallacher, Victor Dubuisson and Martin Kaymer – as even though they will be on a high, fatigue might be an issue,” Lee told Sky Sports.
“So it’s long shots all the way for me, starting with Eddie Pepperell (50/1 with Sky Bet).
“He has been impressive over recent weeks, with top-five finishes in Denmark, Czech Republic, Holland and Wales, and the next step would be a win.
“He’s not short of confidence and that’s something you need.
“I’m also going for Ryan Palmer (33/1) – he competed really well throughout the FedEx Cup and as he’s from Texas he will feel right at home if the weather gets windy.
“I’m also going for another American who must pick up his first win soon.
“Brooks Koepka (40/1) was a hair’s breadth away in Switzerland when he finished one shot behind winner David Lipsky and the wide open spaces of Fife and Angus will allow him to open his shoulders.”
Head to Sky Bet for a host of golf odds and then watch the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, from 1pm on Thursday on Sky Sports 4.
