The scout reports...

Admir Mehmedi has been one of the true success stories of the European Under-21 Championships. Scoring three goals on their way too booking a final place, Mehmedi has been crucial to Switzerland. A physical striker, Mehmedi is excellent in the box and has a good turn of pace to boot. Technically very good too, he has stood out in Denmark as one of the top performers in the tournament. Mehmedi currently plays his football for FC Zurich where he came through the youth system after being spotted as a youngster. Aged just two his family emigrated from Macedonia and he soon joined local side Bellinzona, before signing for FC Winterhur, from where Zurich scouted him. In 2006 he moved to Zurich, but within two years he was included in the first-team squad and by 2010 he was a first-team regular. In 2010 he as also made his debut for the Under-21s, but within 12-months he was also been capped at senior level and he made his debut against England earlier this year. Along with Xherdan Shaqiri, Mehmedi is being tipped as the future of Swiss football and their success in the Under-21 championship - certainly seems to back that up.

The scout says...

A good showing in the final against Spain could have major ramifications for Mehmedi with scouts from all over Europe due to be in attendance. Already on the radar of a number of clubs, he could emerge as a summer transfer target and he could very well move to one of the top leagues.
