Eight cut loose by Daggers

Captain Mark Arber is one of eight out-of-contract players released by Dagenham & Redbridge.

The centre-back is part of a five-strong list of long-serving members of John Still's squad who have been told they can leave, joining left-back Damien McCrory, midfielder Peter Gain and strikers Jon Nurse and Phil Walsh. Youngsters Jonjo Bates, Lee Wootton and Ahmed Abdulla have also been told they are surplus to requirements at Victoria Road. Defenders Richard Rose and Femi Ilesanmi, albeit not out of contract, have also been told they can go and are on the transfer list. However, midfielder Billy Bingham has penned a new three-year deal with the Daggers, while Abu Ogogo has verbally agreed fresh terms which will be signed when the defender returns from holiday. Emerging defender Ian Gayle has seen a 12-month option taken up by the club and will be part of their plans next season, as will midfielder Tom Davie after he was handed his first professional contract.
