Rumours claim schemer could leave if no Champions League football

Marek Hamsik has dismissed fresh speculation over his future by insisting that he has no plans to leave Napoli at the end of the season. The Slovakia international only signed a three-year contract extension at Napoli last month which binds him to the Serie A club until 2016. However, rumours concerning his future persist and he continues to be linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris St Germain. The playmaker told Italian newspaper Il Mattino: "My desire is to remain and win with the Napoli jersey." Reports in Italy claimed Hamsik, who has scored nine goals in 36 league appearances for Napoli, could leave the San Paolo stadium this summer if his club fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League again. Napoli are three points behind Udinese, who hold the last Champions League qualifying spot heading into the final weekend in Serie A. The Naples outfit must beat Siena and hope Udinese lose and Lazio fail to win their respective games in order to finish in the vital third position.
