Risser wants an extended shot

Aldershot striker Wilko Risser hopes to land a new contract at the Hampshire club this summer.

Risser, brother of Swindon midfielder Oliver, arrived at the Recreation Ground in February on a short-term deal until the end of the season. The Namibia international, 29, has since scored three goals in 14 appearances, including one in last weekend's 4-0 romp at Burton. And having established a starting berth in manager Dean Holdsworth's side for each of the last four matches - his longest sequence since joining the Shots - Risser is hoping to remain at the club next season. "It's been pleasant to come into the team and the club. I've felt at home and everyone has taken me in," he told BBC Surrey. "But it's up to the gaffer. I can just do what I do, try and improve and impress."
