City boss admits Real striker Higuain is a 'top player'

Roberto Mancini admits he would be happy to have Gonzalo Higuain in his Manchester City squad, but insists he will not let Sergio Aguero join Real Madrid in exchange. Speculation has claimed that Mancini has lined up Higuain as his primary summer transfer target as he looks to fine-tune his squad at the Etihad Stadium. There have been reports that Mancini wants to sign Higuain to replace his Argentina international team-mate Carlos Tevez, who is back at City trying to reclaim his place in the first-team squad. However, there have also been rumours that Primera Liga leaders Real want to sign Aguero and are prepared to offer £6million and Higuain for the striker. Aguero has enjoyed a stunning impact at City since joining the club last summer from Real's local rivals Atletico Madrid and has scored 21 goals in 37 appearances. Mancini, though, says there is no chance that Aguero will be leaving the Premier League table-toppers, despite his interest in his international colleague. The City boss said: "Higuain is a top player, but we don't want to sell Aguero for nothing. "It's impossible for us to sell him. "He will stay here, but if Higuain wants to come here then we are happy."
