Feyenoord defender Bruno Martins Indi has welcomed reports suggesting he could be on his way to Porto this summer.

The 22-year-old, who can operate at centre-half or at left-back, is currently on World Cup duty with the Netherlands national side.

His attention is focused on a quarter-final clash with surprise package Costa Rica, but it has become impossible to ignore speculation regarding his future.

A switch to Portugal is being mooted once he returns from Brazil, with an 8.5million euros (£6.8m) deal said to be on the table.

Martins Indi admits he would relish a move to Porto, offering him the opportunity to work at one of Europe’s most prestigious clubs.

He told ad.nl: "(Porto) would be a very good step for me. They have a good coach (Julen Lopetegui) with a lot of faith in me.

"Portugal is in my heart. Everything fits nicely because Porto is a club that pleases me."

Martins Indi has previously been linked with Manchester United, a club about to fall under the managerial guidance of Dutch coach Louis van Gaal, but he is reluctant to be drawn on any other possible interest in his services.

The youngster added: "For now, I’m just thinking about the World Cup. After that, we'll see what happens."
