Trapattoni missing eight for Norway clash

Sean St Ledger and Paul Green are the latest names to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland squad to face Norway. Preston defender St Ledger and Derby midfielder Green have both been ruled out with knee injuries. They join Richard Dunne, Ciaran Clark, Kevin Kilbane, Robbie Keane, Caleb Folan, Paul McShane, Darron Gibson and Keiran Westood in pulling out of the squad for Wednesday's friendly. Gibson has been excused from playing to be with his ill daughter, while Coventry goalkeeper Westwood is also struggling with illness. Scunthorpe keeper Joe Murphy has been drafted in as Westwood's replacement. That means eight of the original squad of 27, as well as Clark, who was called up on Friday, are now unavailable for Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni.
