Eredivisie round-up

PSV Eindhoven strengthened their stranglehold on the Eredivisie.

PSV Eindhoven strengthened their stranglehold on the Eredivisie with a comfortable 2-0 win over Utrecht, while Ajax were beaten at Heerenveen.

Guus Hiddink's PSV are marching imperiously towards the Eredivisie title and first-half goals from Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Park Ji-sung secured maximum spoils against Utrecht.

Vennegoor of Hesselink stabbed home from close range after Wilfred Bouma's free kick had fallen into his path, with the telling second coming from South Korean star Park.

Greek striker Angelos Charisteas netted the opener in Ajax's clash with Heerenveen, but the Abe Lenstra outfit turned the game on its head in the second half as goals from Marcel Seip and Georgios Samaras ensured Danny Blind's men took nothing back to Amsterdam.

De Graafschap remain in trouble at the foot of the table as they were thrashed at Willem II.

The visitors led early on through Patrick Ax, but they were undone by goals either side of the interval by Jatto Ceesay and Kevin Bobson, and late strikes by Germain Agustien and Hans Denissen rubbed salt into the wounds.

Saturday's other game between ADO Den Haag and RKC Waalwijk ended goalless.
