Brazilian extends contract until 2013

Werder Bremen defender Naldo has signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2013. The Brazilian had already been tied to Bremen on a long-term deal but he has been rewarded with improved terms and an extra year. General manager Klaus Allofs regards Naldo as an integral member of the Bremen side and has expressed his happiness at the new contract. "We are delighted to have been able to secure Naldo's services for another year," said Allofs. "He is an important component of our game and has become one of the best defenders in the league." Naldo stated that the decision to commit himself to the club for another year had been an easy one to make. "Everything is going well for me with Werder," he said. "Furthermore, my family and I are very settled in Bremen."
