Yanga-Mbiwa and Belhanda could stay put

Montpellier stars Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Younes Belhanda have hinted they could be ready to stay with the club for another season. Central defender Yanga-Mbiwa is rated as one of the best young players in Europe, as is his midfield colleague Belhanda. Yanga-Mbiwa, who has been named in France's provisional squad for Euro 2012, is being linked with a host of clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund. But reports in France have claimed that Montpellier's current squad, who have taken them to the brink of the Ligue 1 title, will opt to stay with them for their UEFA Champions League campaign next term. And Yanga-Mbiwa has certainly not ruled out the prospect of staying put.

Magic

Speaking to RMC, he was thankful to the club for helping him get his French call-up. "It's magic, I did not expect it," he said. "It is a reward for the season that I have had with Montpellier. "I'm surprised, I never thought France were going to call me now." And on his future, he added: "We now have our last match with Montpellier, than then I will think calmly about my future. "I have good feedback the president has given me, I want to stay and we'll see."
Stay
Midfielder Belhanda, who has already stated he would be waiting until the end of the season to decide his future, also insisted he expects to remain. "Of course the Champions League is a massive desire for every footballer, above all when you play in a club where you were educated - that is something really strong," he said. "So yes, I want to stay, Champions League with my club is amazing. There is something that tells me to stay at any price to play in the Champions League."
