Real Sociedad star Nihat Kahveci faces a six-month lay-off after tearing the cruciate ligament in his left knee.The Turkey international will miss the rest of the season, and key World Cup qualification games for his nation, after injuring himself in the game against Sevilla at the weekend.
"As you would expect, I'm very upset," said Nihat.
"I can't do anything about it now and I have to look ahead to the future.
"I hope the team does well in the rest of the season and I'll be there cheering them on.
"I'm going to have to be very patient because there are a lot of months of hard work ahead of me."
Nihat has injured the same knee badly in the past - and will be hoping that forthcoming surgery can repair the joint.
