PSG defender signs on

Defender Sylvain Armand has signed a new deal with Paris Saint German.

Defender Sylvain Armand has committed his future to Paris Saint German by penning a two-year extension to his current deal.

The 26-year-old has emerged as a key component of the PSG side since his move from Nantes in 2004, and despite having two years left on his deal has opted to extend the agreement until 2010.

Armand appeared in the club's opening Ligue 1 game of the season on Saturday, a 3-2 defeat at home to Lorient, and is now looking forward to a lengthy stay at Parc des Princes.

"I am happy, that is a huge satisfaction for me and the club," said Armand.

"I wanted to stay in that club that I like and the club was okay.

"So I haven't had a fight, it is a question of confidence between PSG and myself."
