Grant calls for more focus

Anthony Grant insists Southend must improve their concentration after slipping to defeat at Northampton.

Midfielder Grant had fired Southend ahead early in the second half but his side were unable to hang on and eventually went down 2-1. "We should have seen out the game and it's disappointing we haven't," Grant told the club's official website. "Being 1-0 up we should have won but we had some little lapses in concentration which we need to cut out. "The manager has told us he will talk to us about the game in training so we will see what he says and then try to kick on to make sure we bounce back against Morecambe at the weekend." Grant also spoke of his delight at finding the net for the third successive game after previously going 79 games without a goal. He added: "I can't believe I got another goal and if they keep on coming I'll be happy. It was a great cross, so I watched it, re-adjusted and just kneed it in."
