Striker fails medical at Britannia
Stoke's move for Hoffenheim striker Demba Ba has fallen through after the player failed a medical.
The Potters agreed an undisclosed fee for Ba earlier this week and the player was given permission to hold talks and undergo a medical at the Britannia Stadium.
However, problems have arisen over the Senegal international's medical and the move has now broken down.
Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes said: "Having agreed all the financial terms of the deal with Hoffenheim and the player, he failed his medical.
"We will therefore not be signing him on a permanent basis."
The news could see West Ham rekindle their interest in Ba after having a bid rejected for his services prior to the offer from Stoke.
