Montella eyes Roma return

Vincenzo Montella has hinted he may return to Italy when his loan spell at Fulham ends.

Vincenzo Montella has hinted he may return to Italy when his loan spell at Fulham ends in the summer.

Montella, who joined Fulham in January on a six-month loan contract from Roma, says he has enjoyed his time at Craven Cottage but would like the chance to prove himself again in Serie A.

"I feel good here in London," Montella told Corriere dello Sport. "I've been welcomed in a positive way and it's not easy for an Italian player being accepted in England.

"I must thank the supporters and the club as a whole for making me feel so welcome," he added.

But despite a successful loan stint, the 32-year-old expressed his desire for a move back to Roma, adding: "Roma miss me.

"It has been a great experience but I will go back to Rome and discuss my future with the club.

"I have more experience behind me now and I want to prove myself in Italian football."
