Carr, Ramage and Troisi fail to agree new deals with club

Stephen Carr, Peter Ramage and James Troisi will part company with Newcastle United at the end of the season. Carr, Ramage and Troisi, whose contracts are due to expire at the end of the campaign, have failed to agree new deals at St James' Park. Right-back Carr joined The Magpies from Tottenham Hotspur in 2004, while defender Ramage and midfielder Troisi both graduated from Newcastle's youth academy. Manager Kevin Keegan told the club's official website: "We wanted to keep Ramage, but he wants to play regular football, and I couldn't guarantee that here. "He goes with our best wishes, as does Stephen Carr, who's been a great pro for this club. He wasn't offered a contract and I explained the reasons why. "James Troisi has also gone. He has gone to play for Australia in the Olympics, but he has not been offered a contract."
