On-loan forward Micah Evans believes a summer friendly appearance laid the foundations for his move to Accrington.

Blackburn youngster Evans joined Stanley on a one-month deal on Monday and pinpointed a display for his parent club against the Reds in pre-season that caught the eye of boss John Coleman. "Early in pre-season the first team had a friendly (with Accrington) and Junior Hoilett got injured," he told the club's official website. "I came on early doors and had a good run out against them. "Pace is one of my strengths I'd say. I'm quick, I work hard and hopefully have a bit of creativity when it's needed." Meanwhile, Wolves striker James Spray has returned to the midlands after his temporary stint at the Crown Ground. Spray made three appearances, but his spell in npower League Two was blighted by hamstring problems.
