Shakers land Savage

Bury have signed striker Basir Savage on a month's loan from Reading.

Bury have signed out-of-favour striker Basir Savage on a month's loan from Championship side Reading.

The 22-year-old joins The Shakers in time for Saturday's match at Boston United after failing to a make a single appearance for The Royals this term.

Savage had a similar loan spell with another League Two outfit in Wycombe Wanderers back in September before deciding on a temporary switch to Gigg Lane.

Shakers boss Graham Barrow was delighted to add a hit-man in Savage to his squad.

"He is a big lad and he will come here and do the job for us, if he is up for it," Barrow told Bury's official website.

Another player that has temporarily left The Madejski Stadium is goalkeeper Adam Federici.

The Australian, who signed until the end of the season with the Berkshire outfit recently, will play a couple of matches for Conference South side Maidenhead United.

One player to part with Reading is defender Ahmet Rifat after his contract was cancelled by the club.

Rifat is expected to link up with League One club Brentford in the near future.
