Arsenal keeper desperate to finish above Harry Redknapp's side

Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny admits he is desperate to finish above rivals Tottenham because he 'hates' Harry Redknapp's side. The fourth-placed Gunners thrashed their North London rivals 5-2 at the Emirates last Sunday to narrow the gap to seven points between the sides. Szczesny is now targeting good form in the 12 remaining league games - starting at Liverpool on Saturday - to finish above Spurs in the race for UEFA Champions League qualification. He told The Sun: "I deeply believed that this team could fight for the title and trophies. "We have to finish the season fighting for other objectives. "Currently we are in fourth place and that is the minimum for us because this club has to be in the Champions League every year.

Reduced gap

"After the Tottenham game we reduced the gap to them a little bit. "It is obvious that it is my ambition to finish the season in front of them... because I hate them. "We have to find a different kind of motivation now. At the beginning of the season all teams fight for the title. Now we are not in this fight. "We have to finish this season as well as we can." Szczesny believes the 5-2 thrashing of their bitter rivals has helped fans forgive boss Arsene Wenger and his players after a disappointing season. He added: "Our fans can forgive a lot of things. After the Spurs match they forgave Arsene Wenger. "Trust me. When you win against Tottenham it's all okay and the fans love us. "I think there is no better coach to manage us than Arsene Wenger. We have to trust in his philosophy. "On the other hand we know that fans are recently disappointed. Results aren't as good as they should be."
