Roma snubs Arsenal confirms Biancheri

MONACO have confirmed that Flavio Roma has rejected the opportunity to go to Arsenal.

The Italian keeper is the latest Arsene Wenger target to snub a switch to North London after his compatriot Christian Abbiati rejected the French coach's overtures in order to sign a new deal with Milan.

"Flavio Roma won't leave for Arsenal," affirmed Monaco's sports director Henri Biancheri.

"He will stay with us, as he feels too well here.

"Shabani Nonda won't leave too. It is the same for Jerome Rothen.

"There is a magnificent atmosphere within the squad. The boys don't want to leave."

Nonda, rumoured to be a target for Everton and Tottenham, admits he will not leave for another French club, after a move to Lyon collapsed.

The Principality outfit are looking to retain their top names after having their relegation for financial problems overturned last week.
