Striker expects further arrivals at the Etihad this summer

Sergio Aguero expects Manchester City to bolster their ranks over the summer and be an even greater force to be reckoned with in 2012/13. Blues owner Sheikh Mansour has sunk vast sums of money into the club over recent seasons, with it his desire to see City on top of English and European football. They took a sizeable step towards hitting that target in 2011/12 as they claimed the Premier League title in dramatic circumstances. City know they must make continuous improvement, though, if they are to remain ahead of the domestic field and challenge for continental honours. For that reason, Argentina international Aguero is backing Roberto Mancini to dip into the transfer market once the window re-opens. "That was the first league title that I have won in my career," Aguero, who netted the goal that landed City the crown, told The Times. "Now I want to win more. And it is important for the club that we do well in the Champions League next season. That is crucial if we are to show we are a power on the world stage.

Objectives

"I am sure the club will sign more players this summer to strengthen our squad, to help us achieve our objectives. "Do I have a problem with that? Not at all. I just want to keep winning next season." Aguero is convinced City can continue picking up major honours, with reports of internal rifts within the Etihad Stadium camp wide of the mark. He said: "None of that stuff is true. It is a lie. We have always been united, throughout the season. "We have always stood together. There is no problem with the squad, no lack of cohesion, anything like that. "We are not fighting all the time. There is a great spirit between the players. There is a winning spirit here. Everyone is part of it."
