Rossoneri thought to be interested in Gunners ace

Robin van Persie's representatives claim the Arsenal striker would be open to talks with AC Milan amid speculation linking him with a San Siro move. Rumours have surfaced in the Italian media that Milan, who progressed to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at the Gunners' expense on Tuesday night, are chasing the signature of the prolific frontman. The Netherlands international, who has netted 32 goals for Arsenal this season, is out of contract at Emirates Stadium in 2013 and has put talks over a new deal on hold until the summer. Two of Van Persie's agents, Jeroen Hoogewerf and Cornelis Vos, would welcome talks with the Rossoneri.

Interest

Tuttomercatoweb.com quoted them as saying: "AC Milan want Van Persie? Very good! We can talk about it." The striker has also been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester City, with manager Roberto Mancini confirming his interest. However, the Italian boss believes Van Persie will remain in North London beyond this season. Hoogewerf and Vos refused to be drawn on the prospect of him penning a new deal at Arsenal, adding: "We prefer not to comment and add no more about that."
