Midfielder commits to Rovers until beginning of May

Doncaster midfielder Giles Barnes has signed a new deal to keep him at the Keepmoat Stadium until the beginning of May. The former Derby and West Brom player has impressed in 19 appearances for Rovers after joining on a short-term contract in the summer following a successful trial stint. He had been linked with a move elsewhere in the transfer window, with West Ham, Ipswich and Burnley all believed to be interested in the 23-year-old. But Doncaster boss Dean Saunders has moved to secure his signature until May 5th as he attempts to steer his side clear of the Championship relegation zone.
