Striker keen to be playing on regular basis

Doncaster striker Paul Heffernan is hoping to win a loan move away from the club, skysports.com understands. The prolific forward has struggled to hold down a regular place in Sean O'Driscoll's side this season, making just two starts so far in the Championship. Heffernan, whose current contract expires at the end of the season, is keen to move out on loan so that he can play regular first-team football. The 27-year-old's agent, Clive Hart, has confirmed he has held talks with O'Driscoll about a possible loan move away from the Keepmoat Stadium. "I have spoken to Sean about a possible loan move for Paul," Hart told skysports.com. "Sean understands Paul's situation and we are working to try and find a compromise. "Paul wants to be playing regular first-team football and he feels a loan move offers him the best chance of getting that. "We will see what offers come in and then decide what to do." The news is sure to alert a number of Championship and League One clubs to Heffernan's possible availability.
