Kimi Raikkonen reprimanded for driving 'in a potentially dangerous manner'

Kimi Raikkonen was handed a reprimand after the Bahrain GP stewards decided that he 'drove in a potentially dangerous manner' during second practice on Friday evening.

Raikkonen was called to face the stewards after being judged to have failed to leave the pitlane 'correctly' towards the end of the session. 

However, Lewis Hamilton has avoided a penalty after it was confirmed he hadn't been summoned to see the stewards.

It had just been re-started following Sebastian Vettel’s collision with Sergio Perez when both the world champion’s Mercedes and the Finn’s Ferrari veered offline at the end of the pitlane when they encountered the dawdling Sauber of Marcus Ericsson.

Stewards decided that Raikkonen 'drove in a potentially dangerous manner when leaving the Pit Lane' and was in breach of Article 30.13 of F1's sporting regulations.

Timing screens initially suggested that Hamilton - who had followed Raikkonen out on track - had also been called to see stewards. However, FIA later said that this had not been the case.

Raikkonen's team-mate Vettel was earlier cleared by the stewards after colliding with the Force India of Perez during an eventful finale to the session.

They decided to take no further action, ruling that neither was 'wholly or predominantly to blame'.
