British violinist Vanessa-Mae has qualified to ski for Thailand at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The latest FIS world rankings were published on Monday and Mae, who has been competing as Vanessa Vanakorn, has met all the criteria needed to represent the country in which her father was born.
Countries with no skiers ranked in the world's top 500 are allowed to send one man and one woman to the Games as long as their performances on tour meet a second set of criteria.
Mae, who has been skiing since she was a small child, scraped through that qualification after a series of strong results in four giant slalom races in Slovenia over the weekend.
Ana Jelusic, the FIS Alpine media co-ordinator, said: "She ticks all the boxes.
"According to the qualification system which we have, which requires her to start at least five slalom or giant slalom races, she has done so.
"It also requires her to come below a certain number of FIS points, which in this case is 140. She has done so."
