Rocking the X-Factor

It's been a nervous week in the office as a few of the lads are now reaching the peak of their training for this year's Great South Run. They've been putting in the miles on the treadmill and will be hoping that it pays off this Sunday.

"'He gave me and my girlfriend a big hug although my hug seemed a lot longer than hers; it went on for ages'. He must be a big Hairy Strikers fan! "

Quotes of the week

Chris and a few others will be tackling the 10 miles in Portsmouth alongside several players including Linvoy Primus and Billy Sharp, all in aid of Billy's LJS foundation. You can make a donation to the Soccer AM JustGiving page here which would be greatly appreciated. You can also come and cheer us on if you're in the area, all the information is on the LJS Foundation website.

Tubes and Franky were involved in a charity event of their own at the weekend when they took part in a charity match. They lined up against various celebs including Robbie Savage, the cast of Eastenders, Blue & Darren Eadie with Razor as gaffer after his appearance on the Sofas on Saturday morning

They ended up winning 4-2 with both players happy with their performances, particularly Tubes who was playing his third game of the weekend and hopefully they raised a load of money in the process!

Rocket went along with his girlfriend to visit the X Factor studios on Sunday evening after their attempt at the Crossbar Challenge a few weeks ago. He was invited along by the family of Kye Sones and donned his 'Team Kye' T-Shirt in support of the singer. 'I couldn't believe the vastness of the set!' said Rocket.

He found himself in the company of Jordan and Emile Sande amongst other after finding his way backstage after the show. Rylan seemed most pleased to see Rocket though! 'He gave me and my girlfriend a big hug although my hug seemed a lot longer than hers; it went on for ages'. He must be a big Hairy Strikers fan!

It was slightly less glamorous surroundings for Stu on Tuesday night when he went along to watch Brentford. It capped off a great evening after getting in for a fiver! The Bees fan got confused for a junior and was charged just a fiver to see his side beat Coventry 2-1.

Dave shared exciting news on Tuesday when he revealed that he had become engaged and is looking forward to getting married to his fiancée Flora this summer. 'She's now buying every bridal magazine in the shop!' I'm sure we'll be hearing quite a bit about it over the coming months.

Franky Fryer is also looking forward to meeting his niece for the first time this weekend after becoming an uncle to Emily Harper Smith last week. We'd like to wish congratulations to the both of them. Dev was a bit more reflective however, 'Everyone seems to be growing up apart from me!'

Bobbie was less excited at the prospect of growing up after hearing that Gareth Bale missed Spur's match against Chelsea to be at the birth of his child on Saturday. 'Why would you want to see your wife giving birth?' asked Bobbie. The Soccer AM goalkeeper clearly has his priorities right!

There were some high scoring games in the office this week. James was involved in a 9-3 win for his side although wasn't on the score sheet although feels he should have been! 'Roachy was on for a hat-trick and had an easy pass for me to score but decided to take it himself. Luckily he scored!'

Ash, Max and Stu drew 3-3 with Ash scoring the team's third. Although he nearly didn't make it, having to make an emergency call to Max to get a lift to the game after miscalculating how long it would take.

Hopefully he make it on time for Saturdays show, we'll see you then!
