Quotes of the week

The Hackney-born star last graced the show two years ago following the release of his single 'I Need You Tonight', but left disappointed after losing a rap battle with our own lyrical genius, Tubes!

Still, it doesn't appear to have hindered the 28-year-old's career which has gone from strength to strength since we last saw him, but he was adamant he wasn't going to get suckered into a rematch!

"I'm not battling Tubes, it's not happening," he told Helen and Max.

"I ended up battling Bill Turnbull (BBC Breakfast presenter) and he beat me, so I'm not battling anyone else!

"It's 1-1 with Bill Turnbull. He's in the video for 'Remedy' (Green's new single) as well.

"It wouldn't have been 1-1 but the only thing I could think to say was a swear word and it was BBC Breakfast, so the first time I said 'you've got me, I can't think of anything to say', but the truth is I just had to sensor myself."

Losing battles aside, it has been a productive year for the Arsenal fan. As well as the release of his second album, which reached number three in the charts and included the number one single 'Read All About It', Green is set to support The Stone Roses in June.

He's also started work on his third album and revealed he is contemplating collaborating with Slipknot's Sid Wilson.
