Scott Quigg told Ringside that he cannot wait to fight Carl Frampton - but warned fans not to expect a war of words between the pair.
Super-bantamweight Quigg blitzed Rendall Munroe in Manchester on Saturday night in a rematch from their June bout which, after a nasty clash of heads, ended in a technical draw.
The 24-year-old, who professional record now reads 25-0-1, revealed after the duel that he wants to box across the Atlantic and, ultimately, capture a world title.
But he says a meeting with domestic rival and current Commonwealth champion Frampton, who stopped Canadian Steve Molitor in September, is in his plans.
"It is going to happen as it is a fight I want, a fight Carl wants and a fight the public wants," said Quigg.
"The performance he put in against Molitor made the fight bigger and the performance I put in on Saturday has made it even more intriguing; it is one of the biggest fights in Britain.
"There is a mutual respect between me and Carl and we are both nice lads so we don't need to talk. 2013 will be a big year for me and a clash with Carl would top it off."
Quigg believes high-quality sparring helped him defeat former world title challenger Munroe in such clinical fashion at the weekend, while he also talked Ringside through some of the key manoeuvres he utilised during the match.
"I needed to step it up a level as Munroe is a world-class fighter and has been in with the best - and I did step it up," said Bury-born Quigg. "It was the best performance I've put in.
"The main reason was that I had some top-class sparring. I bought in (American southpaw) Julian Ramirez and he resembled Rendall so well and when I was in there (with Munroe) it was like I had been in there with him for weeks."
On his game-plan against the man from Leicester, Quigg added: "Rendall has a good engine and so to take that away I had to work the body and change the angle at every opportunity; the footwork was the key to the fight.
"To get the shots off I had to move my feet and get them in the right place and that gave me the power. When he came in he was falling over and I was putting bangs in on his body."
