Cricket Writers on TV: coming your way at 9am on Sunday

Paul Allott has been commentating on Sky Sports' coverage of the Friends Life t20 quarter-finals but he will get himself back into presenting mood in time for this week's Cricket Writers on TV.

The former Lancashire seamer will be joined by Kevin Mitchell from The Guardian, The Times' Mark Baldwin and Mirror man Mike Walters on Sunday morning to discuss the cricketing headlines from the past seven days.

The last-eight clashes in the FL t20 - including Surrey's win against Somerset, and Hampshire's narrow triumph over Lancashire in a run-fest at The Ageas Bowl - are sure to be debated ahead of Finals Day at Edgbaston on August 17.

But there is the small matter of the fourth Ashes Test at Emirates Durham ICG, too, which, despite England retaining the Ashes courtesy of Monday's rain-affected draw at Old Trafford, should be quite the showdown.

Paul and his posse will reflect on the opening two days of the game and assess what might lie in store on day three - which directly follows CWOT on Sky Sports Ashes - and beyond as Alastair Cook's team look to win the series outright.

Silicone tape, Hot Spot, and Michael Carberry's international ambitions are some of the other topics that could be dissected, while Paul will also lead his panel through a thorough review of the day's back pages.

Oh, and there will be pastries...

Make sure you catch Cricket Writers on TV, 9am, Sunday, Sky Sports Ashes or, if that's a bit early for you, download the podcast after the show.
