Mark Warburton says he will not consider a future with QPR or anyone else until Brentford's season is over.

The highly-regarded Warburton will be out of work this summer after deciding he would not work within a new management structure due to be implemented at Griffin Park.

QPR were linked with the 52-year-old in the wake of Harry Redknapp's departure, and the club's director of football Les Ferdinand this week told Sky Sports News HQ he is "impressed, to say the least" with Warburton's role in leading Brentford to the verge of the Championship play-offs.

But respect for current Rangers boss Chris Ramsey, and a determination to see the job through at Brentford, meant Warburton was keeping his counsel on Thursday's Morning View.

"It's always flattering to be linked with any type of job, especially one of that stature," he said. "But I know Chris Ramsey very well, and I would never be disrespectful.

"I know the qualities and experience Chris will bring to that job, and I hope very much he's successful in keeping the club in the Premier League.

"The important thing now is to retain focus, get to the end of season, and from there you see what the options are.

"Football's a funny game - people are very complimentary, but you just don't know, so let's see come the end of the season what's happened at various clubs and what offers, if any, are on the table."

Former QPR winger Trevor Sinclair this week urged his old club to go for Warburton in the summer, and those comments were put to his former team-mate Ferdinand, who will be partly responsible for the next long-term appointment.

He said: "Come the end of the season there'll be a shortlist put together of candidates we believe can take this club forward, Chris Ramsey being one of those candidates.

"I know Mark as a person, I don't know him as a manager. He's done very, very well at Brentford and like everybody else I'm surpised that the talk is about him leaving the club.

"I've been impressed with what he's done, to say the least, but he won't be the only person on the list when the list is there."
