Manchester City v Manchester United – Sunday 2nd November, Sky Sports 1 (12.30pm)

After going three games without a win, a streak that includes being dumped out of the Capital One Cup in midweek, the pressure has started to build on Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini. The Engineer guided the Sky Blues to the title last term, but the reigning champions are already six points adrift of leaders Chelsea. On Sunday neighbours and rivals Manchester United come to town, fresh from grabbing a last gasp draw against Jose Mourinho’s men and boosted by the return from suspension of Wayne Rooney. City have had the best of the derby in recent years, winning five of the last six league encounters.

Aston Villa v Tottenham – Sunday 2nd November, Sky Sports 1 (3.30pm)

There’s some delightfully symmetrical statistics to enjoy in anticipation of Tottenham’s visit to Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon. The hosts have lost five in a row, failing to score in all of those defeats, while Spurs have won just one of their last seven league games. The head to head record of the two clubs suggests an away win because it looks ominously similar to Villa’s recent form. Simply put, Tottenham have won the last five meetings without conceding a goal.

Crystal Palace v Sunderland – Monday 3rd November, Sky Sports 1 (7pm)

It’s too early to call this a six-pointer, but we will anyway. A win for Sunderland could take them out of the bottom three and Crystal Palace could fall into the drop zone in their stead, a place no side wants to be as the turn of the year approaches. Despite the two sides’ presence at the wrong end of the table, there’ll almost certainly be goals, especially when Sunderland have conceded 10 in their last two outings.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Birmingham City – Saturday 1st November, Sky Sports 1 (12pm)

A West Midlands derby is the centrepiece of an intriguing Football League triple bill. It gets underway on Friday night when a win for Norwich at home to third-bottom Bolton could take the Canaries top, for a few hours at least. Wolves could then take their place by beating neighbours Birmingham City, who will be led by new manager Gary Rowett. The Blues were thrashed 8-0 by Bournemouth last weekend and the Cherries will be out for more goals when they tackle Brighton on Saturday evening.

United States Grand Prix – Sunday 2nd November, Sky Sports F1 (7pm)

Sky Sports is the only place where you can watch the United States Grand Prix this weekend. A fifth straight win for Championship leader Lewis Hamilton would be his third victory stateside. The absence of financially stricken teams Caterham and Marussia means just four teams will exit in Q1 and Q2 in the battle for pole position.

USA v New Zealand – Saturday 1st November, Sky Sports 2 (7.30pm)

New Zealand prepare for next week’s huge test match against Twickenham by going up against the USA Eagles on the other side of the Atlantic, in front of a sell-out crowd at the famous Soldier Field in Chicago. There’s another bumper weekend of rugby union on Sky Sports, including the Barbarians v Australia, Cardiff Blues v Munster and Saracens v Harlequins in the LV= Cup.

ATP BNP Paribas Masters – Saturday and Sunday, Sky Sports 3 (2pm)

Andy Murray is looking for a third straight tournament win in Paris this weekend. The British number one was victorious in Austria and Valencia, and has now booked his place in the World Tour Finals in London, despite a difficult year. However, Murray will have to get past the likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic if he’s going to triumph in the French capital.

Barcelona v Celta Vigo – Saturday 1st November, Sky Sports 5 (7pm)

Barcelona fans will expect to see their club get back to winning ways on Saturday evening following last week’s humbling defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in el Clasico. However, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez won’t have it all their own way against manager Luis Enrique’s former club Celta Vigo, a side that has suffered just one defeat and sit sixth.
