Sky Sports has enhanced its award-winning Sky Sports app for iPad, enabling users to choose their favourite match highlights for the first time.

From August 17, users will be able to access Saturday Night Football - Match Choice via their ipads. It means a choice of extended highlights of up to eight games will be available to fans from 10pm on Saturdays.

David Gibbs, Director of Sky Sports Digital Media, said: "We're constantly improving the Sky Sports app for iPad, providing sports fans more ways to get closer to the action, wherever and whenever they want.

"The Match Choice is another fantastic addition to our app, strengthening Sky Sports' offering of unrivalled second-screen football coverage ahead of the new season."

The new feature comes on top of a wealth of capabilities that have made Sky Sports app for iPad a must-have for sports fans. In recent months there have been major improvements to the service across football, cricket and Formula 1, including:

• Sky Sports 360 - Using C-Cast multicam technology, the feature enables Sky Sports viewers to relive goals and other key moments from different camera angles during selected UEFA Champions League matches.

• On-screen analysis technology -Sky Sports football fans have been able to access the same formation maps, player touch maps and archive data available to match experts Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.

• Ashes Event Centre - Sky Sports' first ever second-screen cricket experience, giving users the same match analysis technology used by the Sky commentary team, including an integrated Hawk-Eye app.

• F1 Race Control - The ultimate companion experience for Grand Prix fans provides live streams from on-board and pit lane cameras, race data, live highlights and a live Twitter feed with aggregated F1 fan commentary.

The app recently won Stuff magazine's Tablet App of the Year, and includes live streaming of Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and 4, Sky Sports News and the new Sky Sports F1 channel, homepages for football, rugby union, rugby league, cricket, golf, tennis, F1 and boxing, as well as bespoke pages for every team in the Barclays Premier League, Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One and Two and SPFL.
