Golf: How to Play

Last Updated: 18/04/13 3:38pm

Darren Clarke is a golfing hero, be it in the European Ryder Cup team or as an individual player.

The 44-year-old Northern Irishman had failed to make a top-10 finish in the sport's biggest four events in 10 years before storming to the 2011 Open crown at Sandwich. He was the oldest first-time major winner for 44 years.

He was also vice-skipper to Jose Maria Olazabal in Europe's stunning Ryder Cup triumph at Medinah last year.

Darren has experience and a whole bag of golfing skills and he's decided to pass on his top tips and talent to all those wanting to take up golf or take their game to the next level.

Hit the video above to see Darren covering five key areas. If you want to drive the ball like Nicolas Colsaerts or play your irons like Luke Donald, then it's essential viewing.

Darren's demo is part of Sky's Get Involved series in sport. So far we've shown you how to participate, tracked down some Local Heroes and explained how you can stay involved in the sport. To check out our previous episodes simply click this link.
