MY SPECIAL DAY REVIEW
12pm and 7pm, New Year's Day

Click on the video above to see what happened when Olympic long jump champion Greg Rutherford met up with a 13-year-old athletics fan for a day she'll never forget in the final instalment of this series of 'My Special Day'.

Athletics plays a huge part in the life of Carys McMonigal, even though she suffers from the life-threatening disease cystic fibrosis. So we asked Greg - one of Team GB's Olympic heroes - to give her a call.

Greg, who leapt 8.31m to win gold at London 2012, invited Carys to Lee Valley Training Centre for a special workout.

Find out how Cerys got on as the pair did some sprint work and honed their long jump technique - plus see Greg as you've never quite seen him before!

If you've missed any of the five My Special Day reports, you can see them all, featuring Joe Hart, Gareth Bale, Paul Lawrie and the England rugby team, on New Year's Day at 12pm and 7pm on Sky Sports 2 HD.
