New Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez has appointed Boudewijn Zenden to his coaching staff.

Benitez, named interim manager until the end of the season, confirmed the arrival of former Blues winger Zenden at his first press conference.

The Dutchman, 36, played for Chelsea between 2001 and 2004 before joining Benitez's Liverpool.

The former Barcelona, Middlesbrough and Sunderland midfielder has never held a coaching role.
