If you were going on looks alone the man who left Royal Lytham most depressed was not Adam Scott but Phil Mickelson. He was confused and desperate when trying to explain his missed cut. A year that began brightly with a win at Pebble Beach hit the rocks when he failed to win the Masters despite playing in the last group on Sunday. He's a past PGA Champion (in 2005) but it's hard to see him winning again this week.
