The latest player under our scout's gaze is Brazil's Doria.

The scout reports...

We continue our summer of talent spotting at the prestigious Toulon tournament - an Under-21 competition for invited national sides.

We take a look at the man who lead Brazil to glory, and it is another defender in the shape of Doria.

The 18-year-old has been one of the stand-out players during the tournament and it is clear to see why he is attracting big interest from Europe.

At first glance he looks a ringer for former Chelsea defender Alex, and he is not dissimilar in his style of play, although the younger player would perhaps regard himself as more composed.

Doria was snapped up at 14 by Botafogo, who beat a number of clubs to his signature after he was spotted playing futsal in his local league.

It did take long for him to work his way through the ranks and he was making his first-team debut at just 17. Now, just 12 months later, he is already a key member of the side.

He was not called up by the national side until earlier this year when he become part of the Under-20 squad, the side he has just captained to the title in Toulon. But he has also been recognised in the full squad, winning his first cap against Bolivia in April.

It is little surprise that Doria is now on the agenda of a host of clubs with Italian duo Juventus and Udinese leading the chasing pack.

Doria has only added to his reputation in Toulon. Cool and composed on the ball, he is confident in possession and has a lovely left foot which he uses to pick out a good pass when needed.

The scout says...

Doria may not be on the radar of every club in Europe, but he is a top, top prospect and one who looks destined for a move.

Brazil conceded just two goals during the Toulon event and Doria was the lynch-pin at the back. A real prospect.
