The scout reports...

Poland are co-hosts of this summer's European Championship and we check on one of their brightest young hopes in the shape of Maciej Rybus.

Rybus is rated as one of the host country's top prospects and at just 22 could get the chance to shine on home soil come June.

The young winger is currently plying his trade in Russian football after being snapped up by Terek Grozny in a deal worth over £2million in February.

Rybus began his playing career with his local side Pelikan in his hometown of Lowicz. He moved onto MSP Szamotuly where he spent just one season before being spotted by Legia Warsaw.

He joined Legia in the summer of 2007, just before his 18th birthday, and within months he was drafted into the first team.

Within 12-months of making the move to the Polish capital, he became a first-team regular and was soon called into Poland's international set-up.

He debuted for the Under-21s in 2008, but just a year later he was handed his senior debut by Franciszek Smuda in his first game in charge.

Rybus has continued to progress in the past 18-months, attracting interest from abroad, and earlier this year Russian side Terek snapped him up, and he has made an excellent start to his career with them with three goals in his first ten games.

Rybus is now firmly on course to make Poland's squad for Euro 2012, but can he make an impact? Well it is not yet certain whether he will be able to work his way into the starting XI.

A dynamic and powerful left-winger, who loves to run at defences, his diminutive figures means his centre of gravity is low to the ground and makes him hard to pick up when twisting and turning.

Rybus also has an excellent eye for goal, shooting when he gets the chance - but he is anything but greedy and indeed many feel he could take on the opportunity himself rather than always looking for the pass.

The scout says...

Rybus is a terrific prospect for Polish football but whether Euro 2012 comes too soon remains to be seen - but his form in Russia suggests he could make an impact.

Should he perform well at the Euros, he could very well be looking at a quick move from Terek.
