The scout reports...

Josh McEachran is being tipped as a future England star before he has even made his mark at club level, the Sky Sports Scout runs the rule over the Chelsea prospect. 17-year-old McEachran is a product of Chelsea's academy system. The Oxford-born midfielder was spotted at just eight and has been accelerating through the ranks of the West London club ever since. Already an important member of England's youth sides, McEachran has broken into Carlo Ancelotti's first-team squad this season. He was handed his debut by Ancelotti in the Champions League clash with MSK Zilina in mid-September as he came on as a second-half substitute. By playing in the match McEachran made history as he was the first player to play in the UEFA Champions League who was actually born after its inception in 1992. Since his debut he has also featured in the Premier League and Carling Cup as he is handed more and more first-team action. McEachran is an attacking midfielder, very much at home in the centre - but throughout his career it will not be a shock to see him have the odd game out wide. McEachran is capable of playing out-wide, this is due to his tremendous skill and close-control, which he possess in abundance and his good footballing brain - but he is much more effective in central midfield and Chelsea are seemingly of that opinion. His main weapon is without doubt his left-foot - very much a thing of beauty. He can use it to unlock defences, as well as shoot with excellent power, but more importantly accuracy. He is becoming more and more known for his set-pieces, and all in all, he has all the weapons to become a top-class midfielder.

The scout says...

Wonderful talent and has everything set up for him to become Chelsea's first home-grown first-team regular since John Terry, and his excellent temperament only adds to the chances of him making it. Talents like McEachran are rare, but there is little doubt that Chelsea have done brilliantly well to nurture him to this stage. Now both Chelsea and England are waiting anxiously to see what the coming years will bring and whether he will indeed become one of the best players of his generation.
