We run the rule over Brazilian Ganso

Sky Sports Scout is our exciting feature where we scour the globe looking out for the best talent and bring you a report on what we find. Our Scout will report back and you can comment on what you think of our appraisal. Also, in association with Football Manager, we give all readers the chance to win a copy of the latest game by nominating a player. You can only nominate a player by emailing here, including the word 'Scout' in your subject line and please check to make sure we haven't already covered the player! Should your player get reviewed by our scout, and you were first to send in his name, then you will win a copy of Football Manager 2010. Latest under our scout's gaze is Santos youngster Ganso - recommended by Sky Sports reader Jon Durham.

The scout reports...

Paulo Henrique, better known as Ganso, is one of the latest starlets to emerge from Brazil and the Sky Sports Scout checks him out. Ganso is currently with Santos and, along with team-mate Neymar, is considered one of the hottest prospects in South America. Former Brazilian international Giovanni spotted Ganso and took him to youth side Tuna Luso - where he began his own career. At 15 he joined Paysandu, but less than a year later he was snapped up by Santos. In 2007 he missed most of the season through injury but he battled back to fitness and in the 2008 Copa Sao Paulo campaign, he was handed his first-team debut by Santos and he shone. He has since become a regular in the side and has chalked up 50 first-team appearances. During this time he was called in to the Brazilian youth set-up and has gone on to become one of the country's top young players. But is Ganso really anything new? Or just another 'new' Robinho or Ronaldinho, which seems to arise every six months. Well Neymar definitely hogs the limelight, which is not necessarily a bad thing for Ganso, who is very different to his much sought-after team-mate. Standing just over 6ft, he is a very graceful attacking midfielder, and some have labelled him the Brazilian Zidane, but for those who can remember - you could easily suggest him as the new Socrates. A goalscoring midfielder, with great vision - and that is what Ganso is. Left-footed Ganso, like almost every Brazilian, is technically brilliant, his close control beyond reproach but unlike many compatriots he looks for a pass rather than the next trick. He has an eye for goal and is an accomplished finisher, but creating the chance is the main weapon in his armoury. Many clubs are already looking at Ganso, indeed French giants Lyon opened the bidding earlier this year but were shunned.

The scout says...

Reports suggest Manchester City already have first refusal on him, which they gained as part of the deal to take Robinho back to Santos earlier this year, while neighbours Manchester United are also thought to be keeping close tabs on him. However, as they have proved with Neymar, Santos are not looking to sell yet as they realise how good their current crop is, and let's hope Ganso at least will be given another couple of years in his homeland to further develop what looks a great talent.
