Latest under our scout's gaze is Uruguay youngster Sebastian Coates - recommended by Sky Sports reader Richard Chardy.
The scout reports...
Sebastian Coates is rated as one of the most promising defenders in South America.
We check on the 19-year-old, who will be hoping to be on the plane for South Africa this summer.
Montevideo-born Coates is a graduate of Nacional's youth system.
He made his debut last season and is now an established member of their first-team.
He has impressed both domestically and in the Copa Libertadores with Nacional, while he has also been a near ever-present for Uruguay's youth side.
Coates was called up to Uruguay's most recent World Cup warm-up squad against Switzerland and, although he did not play, he is not being tipped to make the trip to South Africa.
And it is not hard to see why the teenager has impressed coach Oscar Tabarez so much.
A tall, elegant stopper, Coates does not come across as your archetypal South American defender.
He is hugely composed and deceptively quick across the ground, mainly due to his imposing 6ft 4in frame.
Coates, though, has become known for his outstanding tackling, using his long legs to curl his way around a player and dispossess them with minimal fuss.
Many in England could easily liken his attributes to that of former England defender Gary Pallister.
The scout says...
Recent weeks have also seen Coates emerge as a transfer target for a number of clubs, with Brazilian and Argentine suitors looking to step in.
He has been linked with a move to Europe, but a season or two in South America's top leagues could further shape his education.
