The scout reports...

Young striker Obi Anoruo playing for Wrexham has an enviable goal to game ratio for Wrexham's youth team, bagging 29 goals in 22 games.

Anoruo was a product of the Liverpool Academy after being raised in Liverpool since the age of six, and many felt he was unlucky not to be kept on after breaking his ankle as a schoolboy, but Brian Little, the then League Two side's manager wasted no time and stepped in to offer him a two-year scholarship.

Anoruo has made the transition from youth team to first team well, he's got the best possible tutor in Wrexham's manager - former Wales and Liverpool striker Dean Saunders - and I'd expect Dean to bring the best out of him.

The scout says...

As a striker, Anoruo has pace in abundance; he's immensely strong for a young player and is a clinical finisher, to his credit he continuously makes smart runs in behind defenders and is effective in the air too considering he's not the tallest of players.

His awareness at set plays needs to be polished but other than that it will not be too long before he transfers his youth team goalscoring capabilities into the first team.
