The scout reports...

Luis Alberto Suarez is one of Uruguay's and South America's best young talents.

After a successful season at Nacional, Suarez joined Dutch side FC Groningen in 2006. He scored 10 goals in 29 appearances and his impressive play attracted other European clubs.

Suarez opted to stay in the Dutch Eredivisie and was signed by Ajax for €9.5 million.

A winger or central striker, he continues to impress by scoring goals and creating them at Ajax, immediately becoming one of their key players.

His creativity and dribbling skills are very good and that makes him a constant threat, although his finishing could be improved.

He made his debut for the Uruguayan national football team in 2007 and he has quickly become a key figure for his country with nine goals in 18 games.

Suarez has an unfortunate reputation of diving and that is one feature he will have to nullify in the future, but he has enough skill and ability not to do it.

The scout says...

Suarez has a dream of playing for Barcelona and he will have to improve a lot if he is to compete with the likes of Thierry Henry and Lionel Messi. But a move to a Spanish side could be the best option for him in the future as La Liga looks best suited to his talents, although at 22 years old he has plenty of time to develop himself further.
