The scout reports...
A huge talent and picked up almost under the radar by Coventry City in the summer as he arrived from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
Chris Coleman has undoubtedly found himself a gem of a player, who has all the attributes to make it at the highest level.
Intrinsically a 'busy' midfielder, but Gunnarsson is so much more than your run-of-the-mill player. He is hard-working, but his industry makes him a constant threat in the opposing half.
He possesses excellent skill and close control, he can pass in and around the edge of the box, whilst he can also spray it from one side of the pitch to the other with outstanding accuracy.
His tackling ability could be debated, but he more than makes up for this with his pace and general willingness to get involved everywhere on the pitch.
He also has the added bonus of a very long throw, which came from his days playing handball in his youth.
Few can believe that Coventry were able to pick up the Icelandic ace on the cheap and now just months after his arrival at the Ricoh Arena he is already been linked with a big money move away from the club.

An awesome talent, whose attitude as much as ability is impressive.
He is down to earth and wants to improve which is likley to mean he stays at Coventry in the short-term, but when he does go there will be scramble for his signature, that is for sure.
