Lewis Hornby will not be offered a new deal by Northampton, manager Chris Wilder has confirmed.

The midfielder made 29 appearances for the club but has not played for almost two years since a back injury ruled him out after the May 2013 play-off final. Wilder told the club's official site: "The boy hasn't played football for two years and sometimes you come to a decision between yourself and the coaching staff that maybe he needs to get himself up and running somewhere else. "It's a shame because when I came to the club people were talking about him in a good light but I haven't been able to see him kick a ball. Hopefully he will get over his injury problems." The 19-year-old started his career with the Cobblers and had a loan spell at Kettering in 2012.
