Derby striker Darren Bent says the team are full of confidence going in to Friday night's Championship game against Watford.

Darren Bent would consider making his loan move at Derby permanent in the summer when his contract expires at Aston Villa.

Bent joined Derby on loan after failing to start in the Premier League this season under previous Villa boss Paul Lambert, and has scored eight times for the promotion chasing Sky Bet Championship side.

The former England forward, who moved to Villa Park for £24million four seasons ago from Sunderland, was regularly overlooked by Lambert and spent last season on loan at Fulham before he was loaned out to Brighton earlier this term.

Bent’s contract is due to expire at the end of the campaign and unless he can build bridges with Aston Villa it looks likely he will be on the lookout for another club.

According to Bent, a permanent move to Derby would be something he would consider.

“I’m on a free at the end of the season and I’ve loved my time at Derby, so we’ll have to see,” Bent told Sky Sports

“Derby have given me an opportunity to come and play games and score goals. They would be in my thinking, 100 percent.”
