Port Vale have confirmed that forward Dany N'Guessan has left the club by mutual consent.

N'Guessan, who signed for the Valiants in October before extending his deal in December until the end of the season, is understood to be moving to a club abroad. The 27-year-old made 12 appearances for Rob Page's team but had not featured since he was substituted at half-time in the defeat at Chesterfield on January 10. "Dany has been a top professional throughout his time at the club," said Vale boss Page. "We would like to thank him for all of his hard work and I know that everyone here wishes him the best of luck for the future." Valiants chairman Norman Smurthwaite added: "When Dany joined Port Vale it was agreed that if he received a more lucrative offer from elsewhere, and subject to us agreeing terms, he would be allowed to leave and I am a man of my word." N'Guessan's departure increases Vale's need to bring in a forward. They are short of numbers because Louis Dodds has broken his toe, Achille Campion has bruised ribs and Ben Williamson has a suspected hamstring injury.
